Maot Chitim: A tradition of care before Passover
In the weeks leading up to Passover, Jewish communities have always come together to make sure no one is left out of the holiday. The tradition of Maot Chitim—literally “wheat money”—is about providing families in need with the essentials: food, matzah, wine, and whatever they need to celebrate with dignity.
This isn’t just charity. It’s responsibility. We’re one community—and before we sit at our own Seder tables, we make sure others can do the same.
We all know Pesach can be expensive. Now imagine not being able to afford even matzah.
Unfortunately, that’s the reality for many families in our own community.
Aishel Avraham is raising $30,000 to provide full Pesach packages—matzah, wine, chicken, vegetables, and more—to over 125 local families who simply can’t afford it.
100% of your donation goes directly to food.
What you get in return: the impact and merit of helping another Jewish family celebrate Pesach with dignity.
Please give what you can. Every dollar matters.
May your generosity bring you and your family health, peace, and joy—and may we all celebrate together next year in Jerusalem.
